With the rise in public sentiment around the environment and to compete more directly with other materials, the program’s focus shifted away from pure-play product benefits to one elevating the industry’s positive sustainability story: showcasing its efforts in forest stewardship, innovative product design, and recycling practices. New research confirmed consumers craved information that would educate them on the truth behind forest planting and maintenance in the U.S., that paper products are continually recycled, and how easy it is for them to become “part of the solution.”
